Move On With Your Sad Empty Childless Life is the culmination of a body of work explored by Balkir during her 2017 Project Space residency. By tearing up collages of tabloid newspapers such as The National Enquirer and Globe, Balkir creates chaotic and colorful assemblages of celebrity gossip, sensationalized news, and utter fiction, which she then traces in her own hand. This publication collects these drawings, trashy collages rendered into abstract lines and forms.
